The Recharge Project is dedicated to providing support and mentorship to grieving children, and we would not be able to do what we do without you. We are constantly assessing our expansion needs by community involvement and using nationally publicized tools such as CBEM. The Childhood Bereavement Estimation Model (CBEM) approximates rates of U.S. children and youth who will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the time they reach adulthood. In the most recent published document, Georgia's numbers have increase above the national average, with 1:12 youth experiencing the death of a parent or sibling by age 18; and that number merely doubles by age 25. In reviewing this information we are certain these numbers are under reported in communities of color. In raising awareness to the mental health of this particular population, we are truly committed providing safe spaces within the community, meeting families where they are. Consider being a monthly donor, with a monthly contribution of any size you can significantly impact the life of a grieving child.
Consider becoming a child sponsor. With a small monthly donation, your contribution assures that our program participants and their family never have to pay for our grief support outings/services provided by our organization. This covers an activity and food for 1 child. Each session aims to host 10-12.
Consider becoming an international sponsor. Not only do we provide grief support to youth in Atlanta but we have an initiative that targets Africa. By donating to our international efforts you can impact the lives of thousands in Uganda, as we host our routine themed and mental health awareness tours.
Consider becoming an event sponsor. Each month we host therapeutic themed sessions within the community, providing our youth with skills for healthy coping. Whether you have a skill or would like to sponsor one of our events so that they remain costless to our families, we would love your help.
